Watermark Art Center’s Spoken Word Series celebrates the literary arts by hosting regional authors to lead readings and workshops in our Main Gallery. We also partner with other organizations to bring distant authors to our region. Past featured writers have included poet Jane Hirshfield and Minnesota Poet Laureate Joyce Sutphen, as well as novelist Maureen Gibbon and National Book Award nominee Kevin McColley.
Our 2015 Series will bring poet Diane Pittman in March. We will also host Bao Phi of The Loft Literary Center for an informational meeting regarding grants for emerging writers, and will sponsor the release of Secrets of Loon Lake by B.B. Church at Sparkling Waters restaurant in Bemidji. In September, a historical fiction reading and workshop will be led by author Lin Enger of Moorhead, MN. See our 2015 Spoken Word page for more details.
