2017 Exhibits & Events
EXHIBIT: Summer 2017. Multi-media group show. Artists featured include John Lembi, Marlon Davidson, Don Knudson, Paula Swenson, Butch Holden and Duane Paulson.
EVENT: February 3. Artist reception with local artists Monica Hansmeyer and Lori Forshee-Donnay, featuring handmade jewelry and scarves. Part of the First Friday Art Walk. Reception 5-7 p.m. Refreshments provided.
EXHIBIT: March-April. Photography exhibit featuring the work of Manidoikwe Devlin and David Manuel titled ‘Waabanjigaade.’ Cultural and natural profiles. Held at Cabin Coffeehouse. (214 3rd St NW, downtown Bemidji.)
EVENT: April 21-23. Pine to Prairie Fiber Arts Trail. A driving tour visiting the studios of Fiber artists in Bemidji and the surrounding area.
EVENT: June 16. 4-7 p.m. Spinning Spokes – Art on the Go. Second annual bike decorating event for kids hosted with Bike Bemidji. Held in Rotary Pavilion at Paul Bunyan Park.
EVENT: July 22-23. 50th Annual Art in the Park. Fine Art & Craft Fair held in Library Park, downtown Bemidji. July 22: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. July 23: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
EVENT: July 29. First City Poetry Reads event. Flight and Adventure theme held at Bemidji Aviation. 2 p.m.
EVENT: August 19. First City Poetry Reads event. Rescue and disaster theme held at Bemidji Fire Department. 2 p.m.
EVENT: September 16. First City Poetry Reads event. Gypsy Taxi – from Italy to Bemidji theme held at Cantabria Coffee. 4 p.m.
EVENT: October 7. First City Poetry Reads event. Home, hearth, slam and cheese theme held at Bee-Loud Glade. 4 p.m.
WORKSHOP: October 7-9. The Exquisite iPhone Landscape with photographer Dan Burkholder. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day. Held at Watermark with field trips around Bemidji.
EVENT: November 11. First City Poetry Reads event. Our Place in History theme held at Beltrami County History Center. 4 p.m.
EVENT: December 2. GRAND OPENING OF NEW WATERMARK ART CENTER. 1-4 p.m. Ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m.
EVENT: December 13. First City Poetry Reads event. Our Physical Selves theme held at Anytime Fitness. 7 p.m.
