February 5 – May 21, 2021
From Bemidji State University’s Harlow-Kleven teaching collection, “A Different Way to Look at It” challenges viewers to think about what the artists have achieved in their creation of abstract art. For example, what is desired by distorting reality with regard to perspective, proportions, or color? As the definition of abstract is to separate or withdraw something from something else, much of abstract art is rooted in reality even if the final image is not recognizable. Challenge yourself to look a little deeper at the work on display in this exhibit.
