The Miikanan Gallery at Watermark Art Center is hosting an art auction fundraiser to benefit Bemidji artist and sculptor Duane Goodwin. Earlier this summer, Dewey lost 40 years’ worth of artist tools and supplies in a fire that burned down his art studio. Dewey is a long-standing member of the Bemidji area art community and a true ambassador for Native American arts. Through this fundraiser, Watermark hopes to help him get back on his feet and let him know he has support in our community.

The fundraiser will have two stages. The first stage will be an online auction running from July 21- August 3, 2017.  The second will be a reception and silent auction on August 4, to be held at the Northwest Indian Community Development Center (1819 Bemidji Ave N., Bemidji, Minnesota.)

Bidding will not begin until July 21, but early viewing of the online auction can be found here. More pieces will be added gradually as the start date approaches. There is also a button to give a monetary donation to Dewey without bidding on a specific item.

100% of the proceeds (minus minimal administrative expenses) will go to Dewey. Thank you for your help in supporting a fellow artist during this difficult time!
