Whether you are self-published or have books with one of the Big 5 presses, these days an author’s responsibilities include marketing and being a vocal advocate for their book.

Watermark Art Center is excited to introduce the Book Marketing Support Group, a monthly membership club where authors can focus on necessary marketing tasks, have accountability to get their marketing done, and receive tutelage from an expert book marketing coach.

This membership group is for serious authors of all publishing paths. Authors will learn from Emily Enger, founder of Good Enough Book Marketing, and spend time working independently on the marketing strategies they choose.

This group is for authors of creative genres only, such as fiction, creative (or narrative) nonfiction, or poetry.
Due to limited space, participants must submit an application prior to registration.
If accepted, applicants will receive further instructions to complete course registration.

SCHEDULE
Sept 2023 – April 2024
Third Thursday of every month; 10:30am – 12:30pm
Location: Watermark Art Center Education Studio
Cost: $500 for the full 8-month term
*We ask that all participants have access to a working laptop and be moderately comfortable with technology*

Instructor Emily Enger is a book marketing and publicity coach. She teaches authors how to incorporate minimalist marketing strategies into their creative process so they become successful without feeling overwhelmed.

Focus on deep, comprehensive marketing strategy

This is not just another tutorial on how to use social media. Authors will come away with a better understanding of what book marketing is, the history of book selling in America, and the various marketing opportunities that exist today. They will then identify and execute the specific strategies that make sense for their personality and books.

It’s time to finally start making money on your books –
and perhaps get the attention of that publisher or agent who passed you by last time.

FAQs

What if my book isn’t out yet?
The best time to market your book is actually before its publication date. So authors are not required to have a published book to join. However, your book must be coming out within a year of our start date.

Do I have to have a new book out?
Nope! This group will help you breathe life into your backlist, too. Whether your book is two months old or twenty years old, this group can help you get it seen.

Emily’s network of contacts is amazing. Her grasp of digital advertising and category targets helped my latest ebook get to #2 in its Amazon category! Keywords for SEO and a knowledge of the right platforms to bring your work to the world are some of her greatest strengths.”
