Exhibit & Online Image Gallery: February 5 – May 1, 2021. Granlund’s regular visits to the Minnesota/Canada border, to explore the landscape of his father’s childhood, have forged an attentiveness to its unique combination of water, rocks, trees and sky.
VIRTUAL EXHIBIT>>Exhibit: November 7 – December 23, 2020. This year’s exhibit is dedicated to 2004 IOC juror, Bill Gossman who passed away earlier this year and will include the work of eight additional jurors .
Each year the exhibit is dedicated to functional clay vessels. Work must also meet high standards of form, craftsmanship, and surface design. Multiple pieces from each potter will allow viewers to understand their unique vision and aesthetic. In addition, artists will have work available for immediate purchase.
October, 2020. Kaul Gallery. In conjunction with the exhibit “Patient Nature”, Watermark Art Center has on display “Monarch Butterflies” painted by area young artists.
VIRTUAL EXHIBIT AVAILABLE >> Exhibit runs September 12 – October 31, 2020. “Patient Nature” is a group exhibit created in memory of area artist and photographer Joyce Kleven (2019). Photographers were asked to submit work depicting birdlife in any form to the categories of Professional, Amateur, Youth or a special fourth category “Birds, Bees & Butterflies – Bemidji” reserved for images of native pollinators interacting with plants native to our area. In addition to submissions, also featured is the “2019 – 2020 Traveling Audubon Photography Awards Exhibit”
VIRTUAL EXHIBIT AVAILABLE >> Exhibit: June 12 – August 23, 2020. This year’s show features a variety of mediums: from paintings and photography to textiles, wood, and more! Members submit pieces of their own work or from their collections to be juried in for this annual exhibit.

We are currently preparing for the 2020 “Members Show”. Applications/submissions are due by 5pm on Saturday, May 16th, 2020. We will move forward with the delivery of the work and have a virtual exhibit on the website until we open to the public. Show opens June 5 through August 29, 2020.

An image comes to me first. I feel inspiration channeling through me faster than my fingers can move. When the piece is finished, I ask myself…What does this mean? What was this meant to communicate to me? The decisions I make are not what will the image be, I feel like that is instead decided for me. So the decisions I make are on how to best recreate the image in my head. It’s not until the end that I ask myself, now what does this mean?
“It’s Only Clay”, October 4 – December 21, is a National Juried Ceramics Exhibit & Competition focusing on functional ceramics, judged in the following areas: function, form/aesthetic, craftsmanship, and surface design.
A group show featuring artists living within the Mississippi Watershed, Great Lakes or Red River of the North. July 11 – September 22. Opening reception: July 11, 5 – 7 p.m.
