A Different Take – Clay Technique Demonstration with It’s Only Clay Juror/Artist Lee Persell

In conjunction with the 21st Annual It’s Only Clay Competition and Exhibition (opens November 6), take time to rediscover familiar clay shapes, tools and methods from a different viewpoint with ceramic artist Lee Persell.  Lee’s personal motto is “life can be hard, but the act of making or creating should be fun and joyful”.

Lee will discuss the use of non-traditional tools as well as making your own, in addition to sharing and demonstrating simpler and more ergonomic clay techniques such as rim centering, tap centering, trimming and rib use.

She will also demonstrate and share throwing and creating a variety of shapes, as well as trimming, altering off the wheel, glazing troubleshooting, and her view on firing and finishing work. Come meet Lee and join the discussion.  All experience levels are welcome! Register and pay here →
