Anderson uses tapestries\, poems and vignettes to illustrate this comparison. \nThe exhibit consists of felt tapestries by fiber artist\, Kristen Anderson and responsive poems by writers Loree Miltich and Susan Hawkinson.

DESCRIPTION:Writing Short\, Crossing Genres\, Getting Published\n\n\n\n\nSaturday\, October 4\, 1-3pm \n$30 Register and pay → \nJoin celebrated local author and poet Marsh Muirhead to explore how to generate ideas\, how to write for the reader you imagine\, read like a writer\, and how to get your work out into the world. \nThis workshop is for writers at any skill level and genre. Participants will explore the best ideas for putting down the words as poetry\, fiction\, or non-fiction. Learn how to generate ideas and find inspiration\, how to transform ideas into appropriate “containers.” \nThe class will consist of short exercises\, brief presentations\, and discussion. Finally\, he will cover how\, when\, and where to send finished work to the world. \nInstructor\, Marsh Muirhead is the author of two collections of haiku – Her Cold Martini and Last Night of the Carnival\, and a travel book – Key West Explained. DESCRIPTION:Begins at 1pm in Watermark’s Education Studio \nFREE to public\, no registration but space is limited – arrive on time! \nLearn about the biodiversity of wooded wetlands with  Kristen Anderson\, Exhibiting Textile Artist (Refugia: the Seasonal Pond Project →) and Sue Eggert\, Aquatic Ecologist. \n\n15 min introduction\n30 / 40 minute Power Point Presentation with Q&A to follow\nMicroscope viewing of invertebrates for attendees\n\nKristen Anderson BIO\nKristen Anderson is a visual artist working in felt at her Bigfork\, MN studio. With a background in biology and art\, she approaches her work with an ecological lens and often creates felt to represent her studies. She partners with the scientific community to develop work\, which has even included processing (rolling) large-scale felts together. She enjoys infusing her enthusiasm for the natural world and feltmaking through classes and individual or group shows\, primarily in northern Minnesota. \nSue Eggert BIO\nSue Eggert has studied the hydrology and aquatic life of forested seasonal ponds and streams of the Great Lakes and southern Appalachian regions for over thirty years. Her passions include learning about the life histories of freshwater invertebrates\, how they adapt to their environment and sharing that knowledge with others.
