DESCRIPTION:CANCELED OCTOBER 5\, 2024: Tipi installation postponed indefinitely due to high winds. Watch for related activities coming this fall. Wakemup will speak as scheduled at 5:30\n\nSmart Wars: Fighting for Gaa-miinigoowiziyang (What we were given)\n\n\nHis mixed media exhibit Smart Wars – Fighting for Gaa-miinigoowiziyang – “What we were given” is currently showing in our Miikanan Gallery. Originally a performance\, the Smart Wars costumes on display share a message of story of a shared indigenous reality where human families join forces to protect the water against destructive corporate greed. \n\n\n \n\n\nWakemup and community members will install a metal tipi sculpture on Watermark’s South Lawn. There is no fee for this event. Watermark galleries and gift shop are accessible and open to the public Monday through Saturdays from 10am to 5pm.\n\n\nThis activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
