SUMMARY:Seed Harvest and Packaging
DESCRIPTION:Hello garden friends! \nWatermark will be offering FREE native wildflower seed packets to the public as part of Bemidji’s Monarch Fest next month\, and we would love some extra hands to help harvest! We’ll meet Tuesday\, Sept. 17th\, 10:30am at Watermark to gather seeds from our pollinator gardens\, and again Thursday the 19th\, 1:30pm to package them up. If you’re able to attend either day we’d sure appreciate it\, and love to see you. \nThere won’t be a lot of heavy lifting involved\, but please feel free to bring garden gloves on Tuesday\, and hand tools if you’d like to throw in a little bonus (always welcome) weed pulling!! We’ll keep a close eye on the weather and keep everyone updated in case of rain. \nLast year we handed out over 100 packs of native seeds – it would be awesome to do the same or more again this year! Thanks and hope to see you all there.

All experience levels are welcome and encouraged to perform. \nThank you to Bemidji Area Art Endowment for their support of Watermark’s Spoken Word Story Slams. \nStory slams are free to watch and free to perform. \nStories must be true as remembered by the storyteller and told in 5 minutes or less without notes or props. \nStorytellers are strongly encouraged to pre-register by calling Watermark at 218-444-7570. DESCRIPTION:Beginning September 21 during regular hours\, Watermark Art Center will give away pollinator-themed kids art kits plus Watermark’s native wildflower seed blend harvested from their own pollinator gardens. The seeds will be available as long as supplies last. \nDo you know where you can see more of Bemidji’s pollinator gardens? The Mississippi Headwaters Audubon Society\, Bemidji Monarch Project committee and several other local organizations and businesses have joined together in a campaign called “Birds\, Bees & Butterflies – Bemidji” to promote the planting of native trees\, shrubs\, and wildflowers in our community to benefit birds and pollinators.
