 2017 Aazhoomon – “Convergence” Indigenous Arts Exhibition

 

The Miikanan Gallery is seeking creative writing submissions for its Grand Opening Aazhoomon Exhibition, scheduled for November 2017. Deadline to submit work is September 9th.

While the exhibit celebrates the diverse Ojibwe creative culture, poetry submissions from all Indigenous nations are welcome.

Work should reflect the title of the exhibition. We are open to broad interpretations of the following concept:
Converge: Come from different directions and meet.
Convergence: The point of converging; a meeting place. A crossroads.

Selections will be based on:

  • Strength of the work focusing on creative merit
  • Diverse representation of emerging to established artist

Submission Specification

Writers may submit 1-3 poems for consideration.

Submissions must be original works created in the last two years.

175-word count maximum/submission.
