Spoken Word Series

Watermark Art Center’s Spoken Word Series celebrates the literary arts by hosting regional authors to lead readings and workshops in our Main Gallery. We also partner with other organizations to bring distant authors to our region. Past featured writers have included poet Jane Hirshfield and Minnesota Poet Laureate Joyce Sutphen, as well as novelist Maureen Gibbon and National Book Award nominee Kevin McColley.

There are currently no readings scheduled for 2016-2017 due to fundraising/renovation work at the art center. Thanks for your patience as we work to expand the art center and grow our programming capabilities.

The 2015 Series included a workshop and reading with poet Diane Pittman and an informational meeting on the MN Emerging Writers Grant with Bao Phi of The Loft Literary Center during the spring. In the fall, Watermark hosted two fiction reading/workshops, featuring Lin Enger in September and Will Weaver in October. The art center also launched the release of an art book by Minnesota painter Marley Kaul. See the 2015 Spoken Word page for more details.
