She Makes: Indigenous Women in the Arts
Join Miikanan Gallery Program Director Karen E. Goulet in an artist talk on Thursday, June 7th, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
There are many ways to express as an artist and when one takes into consideration cultural norms and contemporary practices, there is an endless myriad of ways to approach art, both as a creator and viewer. Historically, Indigenous women artists have worked tirelessly to have their work seen, and as well, worked to open doors for other Indigenous artists. The lecture will provide an exploratory view of the diversity and enrichment that indigenous women bring to the contemporary art world.
