American Women
EXHIBIT March 13 – June 15, 2026
Over the past century, American women have transformed printmaking and ceramics into spaces of innovation, proving that traditional crafts carry powerful ideas while also preserving the collective narrative.
The artists in this exhibit challenged the relationship between art and craft while expanding who could be seen and heard. Representing a wide range of identities and experiences, these women pioneered new possibilities for their fields. Their work stands as an enduring reminder that innovation often emerges from voices once pushed to the margins.
We specifically honor Lillie Kleven and Margaret Harlowe for establishing BSU’s Print and Ceramics Collections, respectively. This exhibition wouldn’t be possible without them.
