SEP 13 Stationery Mail Basket Workshop
Date: September 13, 2025
Time: 10am – 4pm
Fee: $20
Ages 16+
Join accomplished basket weaver Shannon Lucas Westrum for a creative and hands-on workshop where you’ll craft The Stationery Basket — a unique wall- hanging basket designed to hold an 8″ x 5″ notebook, complete with a woven pen holder.
This project challenges and inspires as you learn to shape a flat-back, curved-front basket. You’ll explore techniques like twining, lashing, and weaving with both flat and flat oval rattan, while focusing on form and function. Students will also add the pen holder after the basket is woven, giving a layered understanding of basket construction. Finished dimensions: approximately 12” high, 3” deep, and 8” wide
