Learn about the art of three-dimensional collage, or assemblage, with former Watermark exhibiting artist, Karlyn Atkinson Berg. Assemblage is collage which has evolved into the 3-d form using found objects, a broad range of unusual odds and ends, shapes, trinkets, stamps, images, photos, postcards, old letters, beads, fabric, mementos, paper, paint, and collage materials. Check out your junk drawer and gather up pieces and parts to make a 3-d collage assembled in a 9×9 box.
Check out the work of assemblage artist Joseph Cornell for inspiration and join us for this fun and creative workshop.
ADDITIONAL INFO TO PARTICIPANTS: Participants should bring a variety of materials and objects as described in the class description and optional paint and paint brushes and markers as needed. Participants can also bring copies of mementos or original photos that you do not want to cut or glue into the assemblage.
The instructor will provide some collage materials and paper.
