IOC 2025 juror Nick Devries current body of work is made with porcelain and white stoneware. He works in a reductive fashion, throwing heavier pieces, then altering, rasping, and carving the pots to reveal the final forms.
RECEPTION Nov 1, 5 – 7pm. AWARDS at 6pm. EXHIBIT Nov 1 – Dec 23.” It’s Only Clay” is a juried ceramics competition focusing on, and dedicated to, functional clay vessels. Submissions are judged in four areas: function, form/aesthetic, craftsmanship, and surface design.
While creating Iga style vases, Lambert envisions showcasing flowers in the vases. The coarse rough clay, harsh rib marks, dry surfaces dusted with ash, a line of glaze running or pooling, stout forms and heavy clay walls contrast the delicacy of flower petals.

DEADLINE EXTENDED MAY 6. Interested artists are invited to submit designs reflecting the theme of “Unity” as part of a juried exhibition that will open on August 19th, 2022 in the Kaul Gallery at the Watermark Art Center.
Exhibit & Online Slideshow: November 7 – December 23, 2020. The 2020 exhibit is dedicated to 2004 IOC juror, Bill Gossman who passed away earlier this year and will include the work of eight additional jurors .
Each year the exhibit is dedicated to functional clay vessels. Work must also meet high standards of form, craftsmanship, and surface design. Multiple pieces from each potter will allow viewers to understand their unique vision and aesthetic. In addition, artists will have work available for immediate purchase.
