RECEPTION March 18. EXHIBIT March 6-May 20. Aanikoosijigaade – It is Linked. Converging across generations, gender, and media these artists bring their observations about identity and current culture into dynamic visual metaphors.
EXHIBIT Feb 3 – May 12 (updated). This show celebrates the women artists in the collections and their contributions to the art world. Women have been part of the history of art since the beginning. But women have never been accepted and valued the same as male artists.
RECEPTION Feb 10. Exhibit Feb 10 – April 28.The lively, whimsical paintings explore the stories experienced by flora and fauna hidden in the forest on one warm spring day. The artist’s brush strokes and color choices were influenced by discoveries made when she explored this unseen and unheard world. RECEPTION & Book Launch Jan 20. EXHIBIT Jan 13 – Mar 25. Four years after “The Unchosen Ones”, R. J. Kern re-photographed many of the subjects of the original series. In some cases, the animal and its handler are photographed together again. In other cases, the child has moved on and replaced the animal with some new pursuit; a tractor, a chicken, a fishing pole.
SCREENING: 7pm Saturday, April 1 at Rail River Folk School. Discussion to follow. “A PLACE ON THE EDGE OF BREATH”, a short Documentary co-produced by exhibiting artist Shaawan Francis Keahna.
Feb 24 & 25, 2023. This year’s event will feature several different types of snow snake events for all ages. There will be prizes for the three games which include distance, target, and hoops.
