RECEPTION MAY 6. EXHIBIT MAY 6 – AUGUST 13. The Human Journey reflects artist Joachim Berthold’s lifelong desire to evolve and improve as an individual in order to create a better society. His work presents a story of connection using the human form reflected in relationships as they are created when a community comes together with strength and purpose for good. It is a story of humankind and community.
Exhibit: February 1 – May 13, 2022. Selected prints and ceramics from BSU’s Harlow-Kleven teaching collection focus on the process of making art and the results artists achieve.
ARCHIVED ONLINE. In conjunction with multidisciplinary artist Moira Villiard’s Exhibit “Rights of the Child” Watermark Art Center will hold a panel discussion regarding the rights and policies implemented by governments that invest in child development such as health care, nutrition and stronger safeguards intended to protect children from violence and exploitation.
EXHIBIT MARCH 5 – MAY 6. This series of digitally illustrated posters and surreal paintings by Moira Villiard, explore aspects of childhood and our often conflicting definitions of human rights.
Exhibit Discussion March 24. Exhibit Feb 5 – March 26. Open house Feb 5, 2 – 4pm. Every quilter has their own interpretation of what quilting is. From the utilitarian to decorative, quilting has expanded through the evolution of society, design, necessity and economics. With “A Quilter’s Perspective,” Lundorff broadens the definition of quilting for visitors while highlighting the diverse personalities who make them.
Artist’s Talk March 26, 2 – 4pm. Exhibit: Extended to March 26. With her newest series of bold and bright portraits of children, Alice Blessing journeys through the developmental consequences of patriarchy and systematic oppression. Originally exploring feminism and puberty, Blessing’s deeply personal concept evolved to address intersectionality, gender and diversity.
Open House January 8, 2 – 4pm. Exhibit Dec 6 – Feb 25. This collection of recent illustrations explores indigenous art, culture and traditions.
Open House: Nov 12, 5 to 7pm. Exhibit Nov 12 – Jan 29. Curated but the Kaul family, the exhibit includes works from private and personal collections.
Exhibit: October 1, 2021 to January 21, 2022. Prints and ceramics selected for the exhibit from BSU’s Harlow-Kleven teaching collection, masterfully demonstrate how artists use color to engage, direct and interact with the viewer.
Exhibit extended to November 30, 2021. Maggie Thompson derives her inspiration from the history of her Ojibwe heritage, exploring family history as well as themes and subject matter of the broader Native American experience.
Reception: Oct 1, 5-7pm. Exhibit: October 1 – November 27, 2021. This exhibit is the outgrowth of a recently published chapbook sharing his life as an artist. By focusing on abstract concepts, Alberti says he has let color dominate and control his expressions with color becoming the tool of investigation and discovery.
November 19, 6pm Book Signing & Reading. It’s one thing to write a book; it’s another to live it. Wendell Affield never knew his father. His childhood was punctuated by a volatile mother and an unpredictable stepfather. Barbara, Uncharted Course Through Borderline Personality Disorder is the culmination of a decade of research and interviews with mental health professionals as Affield learns to understand and appreciate the woman who haunted his childhood.
