2022 Watermark Art Festival Art in the Park Music and Artist Demonstrations Schedules
ARCHIVED ONLINE. In conjunction with multidisciplinary artist Moira Villiard’s Exhibit “Rights of the Child” Watermark Art Center will hold a panel discussion regarding the rights and policies implemented by governments that invest in child development such as health care, nutrition and stronger safeguards intended to protect children from violence and exploitation.
Reception: Oct 1, 5-7pm. Exhibit: October 1 – November 27, 2021. This exhibit is the outgrowth of a recently published chapbook sharing his life as an artist. By focusing on abstract concepts, Alberti says he has let color dominate and control his expressions with color becoming the tool of investigation and discovery.
November 19, 6pm Book Signing & Reading. It’s one thing to write a book; it’s another to live it. Wendell Affield never knew his father. His childhood was punctuated by a volatile mother and an unpredictable stepfather. Barbara, Uncharted Course Through Borderline Personality Disorder is the culmination of a decade of research and interviews with mental health professionals as Affield learns to understand and appreciate the woman who haunted his childhood.
Demonstrations July 9 & 10: John Hitchcock, who is currently exhibiting “Bury the Hatchet: Prayer for My P’ah-Be” will hold a 2 public print demonstrations. Registration required for July 9.
August 28, 2021: Songs of Our Home is a celebration of the rich and diverse heritage of nationalities that immigrated to the Iron Range and whose legacy, culture, and traditions are still deeply rooted in the area.

CANCELLED: Shop 505’s Featured Artist, Patty Lovegreen, will demonstrate wrap weaving. You are invited to bring your own supplies and learn the technique with her.
CANCELLED. Future Slam dates to be announced. The Tavern on South Shore will host the first of several poetry slam events as part of the 2020 Spoken Word series.
Event Cancelled and will be re-scheduled, TBD. Thomas Stillday will demonstrate beadwork techniques and answer your questions regarding his process, patterns, bead preferences, and his exhibit, “Wezhichigewaad.”

Closing Reception: CANCELLED. The paintings and prints on display reflect her research into new media, which she introduced into the art curriculum at BSU to enhance her students’ scope in the painting and graphics disciplines.
“Other Dimensions” is Natalia Himmirska’s retrospective exhibition, representing works executed during her “Minnesota Period” at Bemidji State University beginning in 2003 until this spring, when she will retire as a full professor.
